Route Description
The Central Westchester Parkway begins at an interchange with access to and from the eastbound direction of I-287 in White Plains. The road heads north as a four-lane divided highway through wooded surroundings near homes, with a right-in/right-out ramp providing access to Beech Street West, which provides access to Orchard Street, in the northbound direction and Clinton Street in the southbound direction. A short distance later, the parkway comes to a southbound exit and entrance with Orchard Street, which provides access to and from the westbound direction of I-287. Following this, the road passes between residential neighborhoods to the west and fields to the east. The Central Westchester Parkway heads into North Castle and comes to its northern terminus at an intersection with NY 22 in a commercial area, which continues north to connect to the Taconic State Parkway.

Famous quotes containing the words route and/or description:
“By a route obscure and lonely,
Haunted by ill angels only,
Where an eidolon, named Night,
On a black throne reigns upright,
I have reached these lands but newly
From an ultimate dim Thule
From a wild weird clime that lieth, sublime,
Out of spaceout of time.”
—Edgar Allan Poe (18091849)
“Why does philosophy use concepts and why does faith use symbols if both try to express the same ultimate? The answer, of course, is that the relation to the ultimate is not the same in each case. The philosophical relation is in principle a detached description of the basic structure in which the ultimate manifests itself. The relation of faith is in principle an involved expression of concern about the meaning of the ultimate for the faithful.”
—Paul Tillich (18861965)
