Celebrity Survivor - Production

Production

While the Nine Network currently hold the rights to screen the U.S. version of Survivor, after the failure of their 2002 local Survivor project Australian Survivor, the Seven Network found a loophole in their contract and obtained the rights to produce Celebrity Survivor. Castaway Television, which produced Australian Survivor, was again involved in the production of this second Australian version Survivor. The show was filmed on Éfaté Island in Vanuatu in the South Pacific. The series was filmed over twenty-five days, or three weeks, from late May to early June 2006, with promotional advertising beginning in July. From promos and footage shown on the Seven Network, it appeared that Celebrity Survivor borrowed many elements from the U.S. version's ninth season, Survivor: Vanuatu - Islands of Fire. The one-hour show was rated PG (parental guidance recommended) and aired during Thursday nights on the Seven Network. The executive producer of Celebrity Survivor is David Mason, who also produces other shows on the Seven Network, such as Medical Emergency and The Mole.

Famous quotes containing the word production:

The heart of man ever finds a constant succession of passions, so that the destroying and pulling down of one proves generally to be nothing else but the production and the setting up of another.
François, Duc De La Rochefoucauld (1613–1680)

Just as modern mass production requires the standardization of commodities, so the social process requires standardization of man, and this standardization is called equality.
    Erich Fromm (1900–1980)

[T]he asphaltum contains an exactly requisite amount of sulphides for production of rubber tires. This brown material also contains “ichthyol,” a medicinal preparation used externally, in Webster’s clarifying phrase, “as an alterant and discutient.”
State of Utah, U.S. public relief program (1935-1943)
