Among their methods are:

  • Lobbying both Houses of Parliament

  • Through conferences and public functions
  • Through the work of its committees and its members.

The current President of the Catholic Union is Lord Brennan QC.

Famous quotes containing the words catholic, union and/or britain:

I maintain that I have been a Negro three times—a Negro baby, a Negro girl and a Negro woman. Still, if you have received no clear cut impression of what the Negro in America is like, then you are in the same place with me. There is no The Negro here. Our lives are so diversified, internal attitudes so varied, appearances and capabilities so different, that there is no possible classification so catholic that it will cover us all, except My people! My people!
    Zora Neale Hurston (1891–1960)

These semi-traitors [Union generals who were not hostile to slavery] must be watched.—Let us be careful who become army leaders in the reorganized army at the end of this Rebellion. The man who thinks that the perpetuity of slavery is essential to the existence of the Union, is unfit to be trusted. The deadliest enemy the Union has is slavery—in fact, its only enemy.
    Rutherford Birchard Hayes (1822–1893)

I’ll stay until I’m tired of it. So long as Britain needs me, I shall never be tired of it.
    Margaret Thatcher (b. 1925)
