Castle View High School - Students

Students

For its first year of operation, Castle View only served ninth and tenth grade students. During the 2007-2008 school year, eleventh grade students joined the student body. It is now at full capacity, operating ninth, tenth, eleventh, and twelfth grades since the start of the 2008-2009 school year. The first graduating class from Castle View High School graduated at the Red Rocks Amphitheater on May 22, 2009.

While operating below its grade capacity during the 2007-2008 school year, a portion of the school building was used as overflow classroom space for around 300 students from Castle Rock Middle School. It has since stopped serving this purpose as the new Mesa Middle School was constructed over the summer of 2008.

Famous quotes containing the word students:

American universities are organized on the principle of the nuclear rather than the extended family. Graduate students are grimly trained to be technicians rather than connoisseurs. The old German style of universal scholarship has gone.
    Camille Paglia (b. 1947)

A complacent old Don of Divinity
Used to boast of his daughter’s virginity:
    “They must have been dawdlin’,
    The students of Magdalen—
It couldn’t have happened at Trinity.”
    Anonymous.

I know that I will always be expected to have extra insight into black texts—especially texts by black women. A working-class Jewish woman from Brooklyn could become an expert on Shakespeare or Baudelaire, my students seemed to believe, if she mastered the language, the texts, and the critical literature. But they would not grant that a middle-class white man could ever be a trusted authority on Toni Morrison.
Claire Oberon Garcia, African American scholar and educator. Chronicle of Higher Education, p. B2 (July 27, 1994)
