Castle Bromwich Hall - The Family

The Family

The Hall has had many famous visitors including The Duke of Connaught, The Duke and Duchess of Teck, The Duke and Duchess of York, Prince and Princess Christian, Queen Mary and William Gladstone.

The last family member to live in the Hall until her death in 1936 was Lady Ida Bradford. She really loved this home and the village, holding the garden fete in the Hall grounds and mingling with the villagers.

Famous quotes containing the word family:

All happy families resemble one another, but each unhappy family is unhappy in its own way.
    Leo Tolstoy (1828–1910)

My ambition for station was always easily controlled. If the place came to me it was welcome. But it never seemed to me worth seeking at the cost of self-respect, or independence. My family were not historic; they were well-to-do, did not hold or seek office. It was easy for me to be contented in private life. An honor was no honor to me, if obtained by my own seeking.
    Rutherford Birchard Hayes (1822–1893)
