Romania
Carrefour Express, rebranded as Carrefour Market in December 2010, operates 32 supermarkets in Romania. Until September 2008, the supermarkets were branded Artima. Artima was bought by Carrefour for €21 million in October 2007, with the rebranding to Carrefour Express taking place nearly a year later. Carrefour Market stores are local supermarkets, and are thus different to conventional Carrefour branches in Romania, which are hypermarkets.
