Murder On Campus
On Thursday, May 18, 2006, an 18-year-old student from nearby Carolina Forest High School was stabbed to death in the parking lot of the Carolina Forest Middle School campus, while students were arriving for the day. Officials caught the murder suspect, Edwin Lee Cornelius, who was the boyfriend of the victim, Natalia Allison Holmes. On June 20, 2008, he pleaded guilty and was subsequently sentenced to life in prison.
