Carolina Forest Middle School

Carolina Forest Middle School (CFMS) was located in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina in the neighborhood of Carolina Forest. The school began its operations in 1997 and continued to grow until its closure in 2007. Horry County Schools addressed the overgrowth problem in 2004, and as a result, two new schools were formed as replacements for Carolina Forest Middle School. They are Ocean Bay Middle School, serving primarily the Carolina Forest neighborhood, and Black Water Middle School, serving eastern Conway. These schools still feed into Carolina Forest High School.

Famous quotes containing the words carolina, forest, middle and/or school:

Poetry presents indivisible wholes of human consciousness, modified and ordered by the stringent requirements of form. Prose, aiming at a definite and concrete goal, generally suppresses everything inessential to its purpose; poetry, existing only to exhibit itself as an aesthetic object, aims only at completeness and perfection of form.
Richard Harter Fogle, U.S. critic, educator. The Imagery of Keats and Shelley, ch. 1, University of North Carolina Press (1949)

    For Nature ever faithful is
To such as trust her faithfulness.
When the forest shall mislead me,
When the night and morning lie,
When the sea and land refuse to feed me,
‘Twill be time enough to die.
    Ralph Waldo Emerson (1803–1882)

Had middle class black women begun a movement in which they had labeled themselves “oppressed,” no one would have taken them seriously.
    bell hooks (b. 1955)

The school is the last expenditure upon which America should be willing to economize.
    Franklin D. Roosevelt (1882–1945)
