Carmel Convent School was established by the Sisters of the Congregation of Mother of Carmel (CMC) in 1968. CMC is a religious congregation of sisters who dedicate their lives to the betterment of their fellow citizens especially women and children.

The school is affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi from April 1994 and managed by the Carmel Convent Education Society to cater to the educational needs of the children of the BHEL Township and the surrounding localities.
