Academic Ranking
As of 2012 the university is ranked as the Top 'new' university in Wales by the major university guides - The Guardian University Guide 2013, the Complete University Guide 2013 published in The Independent and the Times Good University Guide 2013.
As of 2010 the university is ranked as ‘Wales’ top new university’ by all four major university guides – The Sunday Times University Guide, 2011 Complete University Guide published in the The Independent, The Guardian University League Table 2010, and the Times Good University Guide 2011. In the Guardian University Guide 2012, Cardiff Metropolitan University's ranking dropped from 57th to 71st place.
The 2011 Complete University Guide shows that as well as holding onto its top new university in Wales title, the university has also leapt up the league table to be among the top three universities in Wales and among the top ten new universities in the UK.
