Cardiff Law School

The Cardiff Law School (Welsh: Ysgol y Gyfraith, Caerdydd) is the law department of Cardiff University in Cardiff, Wales. It provides an LLB degree, in addition to postgraduate courses like the LLM and research degrees. The School also provides professional legal education, in terms of the Legal Practice Course for would-be solicitors and the Bar Vocational Course for those studying for the Bar.

The School is located in Cardiff’s magnificent civic centre. Until the late 1950s the area to the North of Main Building remained undeveloped. In 1963 the Law Building (then known as the Arts Building) opened, joining Museum Avenue and Park Place. Its distinctive bull-nose front is still an easily recognisable feature.

Famous quotes containing the words law and/or school:

Justice begins with the recognition of the necessity of sharing. The oldest law is that which regulates it, and this is still the most important law today and, as such, has remained the basic concern of all movements which have at heart the community of human activities and of human existence in general.
    Elias Canetti (b. 1905)

Out of life’s school of war.—What does not destroy me, makes me stronger.
    Friedrich Nietzsche (1844–1900)
