Famous quotes containing the words car, original, motion and/or picture:

Freedom is not an ideal, it is not even a protection, if it means nothing more than freedom to stagnate, to live without dreams, to have no greater aim than a second car and another television set.
    Adlai Stevenson (1900–1965)

Original thought is like original sin: both happened before you were born to people you could not have possibly met.
    Fran Lebowitz (b. 1951)

I still think I ought to leave Washington well alone. I have many friends in that city who can of their own motion speak confidently of my ways of thinking and acting. An authorized representative could remove some troubles that you now see, but only think of yet greater troubles he might create.
    Rutherford Birchard Hayes (1822–1893)

No sacrifice was too great to get the film right, to get it accurate, true, and perfect. We weren’t important in our minds; only the picture was.
    Lillian Gish (1896–1993)
