Captain Kate

Captain Kate, was a US newspaper comic strip created by Jerry and Halle Skelly. Captain Kate was a female captain of a ship in the late 18th century. The comic, written by Jerry's wife Halle Skelly, was distributed by King Features from 1967 to 1972.
