Canons High School is a high performing specialist school (DfES,2006).

The school received a glowing Ofsted report in May 2007, recognising Canons as a very good school with outstanding features.

In 2010 Canons high school received the highest possible rating that Ofsted can give, "Outstanding".Statement released by Ofsted was "Canons High School is an outstanding school. The vast majority of parents and students think very highly of the education and support it provides. The excellent care and dedication of staff ensures that students, including the most vulnerable, make good progress, feel very safe and develop into rounded individuals" (Ofsted 2010)
