Memory Card Error
The Digital IXUS 400 has a known issue where the camera incorrectly reports a problem with the memory card (Memory Card Error message). This problem can be temporarily overcome by removing both the main battery as well as the small internal battery. Canon has acknowledged this issue and will repair free of charge. Go to the Canon web site for your region (e.g. http://canon.ca/english/index-customersupport.asp for Canada) and click on the Powershot Digital Camera link on the left hand side.
