Ethan "Cane" Ashby (born Ethan Atkinson) is a fictional character from the CBS soap opera The Young and the Restless, portrayed by Daniel Goddard. He was introduced by former executive producer Lynn Marie Latham during the episode airing on January 12, 2007 as "an Australian bartender in search of his family". Latham created Cane as the son of Phillip Chancellor II (Donnelly Rhodes) and Jill Foster Abbott (Jess Walton), though the character's background was rewritten by Maria Arena Bell in 2009, casting General Hospital veterans Tristan Rogers and Genie Francis to portray the character's parents.

Soon after his debut, Cane became a leading character, which was praised by viewers and critics. The character has been involved with Amber Moore (Adrienne Frantz), Chloe Mitchell (Elizabeth Hendrickson) and Lily Winters (Christel Khalil), a romance which has garnered a large fan following. In 2011, the actor was fired though rehired soon after viewers campaigned for his return.
