Canadian Interuniversity Sport Women's Ice Hockey - National Champions

National Champions

The Canadian Interuniversity Sport women's ice hockey championship is awarded annually to the Canadian Interuniversity Sport (CIS) women's ice hockey champions. The championship has been competed for in the CIS since 1998, when the sport was established in the league. Previously, the most important Canadian university women's ice hockey championship was the one from the Women's Intercollegiate Athletic Union (WIAU) (from 1921 till 1971), along with that of the Ontario Women's Interuniversity Athletic Association (OWIAA) (from 1972 till 1997) which awarded the Dr. Judy McCaw trophy to the team champion.

Famous quotes containing the words national and/or champions:

...I have wanted to believe people could make their dreams come true ... that problems could be solved. However, this is a national illness. As Americans, we believe all problems can be solved, that all questions have answers.
    Kristin Hunter (b. 1931)

Myths and legends die hard in America. We love them for the extra dimension they provide, the illusion of near-infinite possibility to erase the narrow confines of most men’s reality. Weird heroes and mould-breaking champions exist as living proof to those who need it that the tyranny of “the rat race” is not yet final.
    Hunter S. Thompson (b. 1939)
