Campbell Money - Senior Career

Senior Career

Money started his senior career with St. Mirren, whom he joined from Dailly Amateurs in 1978. As a result of his move to full-time football he was obliged to give up a career in the police force. He made his debut on 1 August 1978 when selected to face a Southampton side containing stars such as Peter Osgood and Ted McDougall. However the presence of established goalkeeper, Billy Thomson, limited his appearances at Love Street until 1984, when Thomson switched teams and joined Dundee United.

Famous quotes containing the words senior and/or career:

Adolescents have the right to be themselves. The fact that you were the belle of the ball, the captain of the lacrosse team, the president of your senior class, Phi Beta Kappa, or a political activist doesn’t mean that your teenager will be or should be the same....Likewise, the fact that you were a wallflower, uncoordinated, and a C student shouldn’t mean that you push your child to be everything you were not.
    Laurence Steinberg (20th century)

What exacerbates the strain in the working class is the absence of money to pay for services they need, economic insecurity, poor daycare, and lack of dignity and boredom in each partner’s job. What exacerbates it in upper-middle class is the instability of paid help and the enormous demands of the career system in which both partners become willing believers. But the tug between traditional and egalitarian models of marriage runs from top to bottom of the class ladder.
    Arlie Hochschild (20th century)
