Camp Jam On MTV
During July 2008, an MTV production crew of ten filmed a session of Camp Jam Overnight in Chicago for an episode of a new series entitled “True Life Presents: Camp’d Out,” a spinoff of the well-known MTV documentary series True Life. The producers followed four campers that MTV chose due to their background and musical talent. These musicians participated in a typical Camp Jam Overnight session, and then concluded the week with a special Friday night concert held at the House of Blues in Chicago. The episode, entitled “I’m Going to Rock Camp,” first aired on January 3, 2009.

Famous quotes containing the words camp and/or jam:
“When the weather is bad as it was yesterday, everybody, almost everybody, feels cross and gloomy. Our thin linen tentsabout like a fish seine, the deep mud, the irregular mails, the never to-be-seen paymasters, and the rest of mankind, are growled about in old-soldier style. But a fine day like today has turned out brightens and cheers us all. We people in camp are merely big children, wayward and changeable.”
—Rutherford Birchard Hayes (18221893)
“We fight our way through the massed and leveled collective safe taste of the Top 40, just looking for a little something we can call our own. But when we find it and jam the radio to hear it again it isnt just oursit is a link to thousands of others who are sharing it with us. As a matter of a single song this might mean very little; as culture, as a way of life, you cant beat it.”
—Greil Marcus (b. 1945)
