Camera Dolly - Track

Track

Dolly tracks used for heavy cameras have traditionally been constructed of steel or aluminium. Steel, although heavier than aluminum, is less expensive and withstands heavier use. Longer track segments, while heavier to transport, allow track to be laid straighter with less effort. Curved track is also available. Plastic versions of track have been used with lightweight dolly systems. In the 2000s, flexible rubber track allowed quicker set up and easier transportation for use with light cameras.

Famous quotes containing the word track:

He was good-natured to a degree of weakness, even to tears, upon the slightest occasions. Exceedingly timorous, both personally and politically, dreading the least innovation, and keeping, with a scrupulous timidity, in the beaten track of business as having the safest bottom.
Philip Dormer Stanhope, 4th Earl Chesterfield (1694–1773)

What is the use of going right over the old track again? There is an adder in the path which your own feet have worn. You must make tracks into the Unknown.
    Henry David Thoreau (1817–1862)

    Away went the messenger’s bicycle,
His serpent’s track went up the hill forever.
And all the time she stood there hot as fever
    And cold as any icicle.
    John Crowe Ransom (1888–1974)
