Cambridge Centre - History

History

Cambridge Centre first opened in 1996, on a site previously occupied by the John Galt Centre, which was retro-fitted and expanded as the first phase of the development.

The mall underwent further expansion in 2002, which added several department stores, and an NHL-sized ice rink known as the Cambridge Ice Centre. Since 1996, $100 million has been invested in the enhancement of Cambridge Centre, allowing it to compete with other shopping malls in Waterloo Region, such as Fairview Park Mall and Conestoga Mall.

Famous quotes containing the word history:

I cannot be much pleased without an appearance of truth; at least of possibility—I wish the history to be natural though the sentiments are refined; and the characters to be probable, though their behaviour is excelling.
    Frances Burney (1752–1840)

The basic idea which runs right through modern history and modern liberalism is that the public has got to be marginalized. The general public are viewed as no more than ignorant and meddlesome outsiders, a bewildered herd.
    Noam Chomsky (b. 1928)

It is remarkable how closely the history of the apple tree is connected with that of man.
    Henry David Thoreau (1817–1862)
