Calzaghe has three sons, two from a previous marriage. He split up with long-standing girlfriend Jo-Emma Larvin. After participating in the seventh series of the BBC's Strictly Come Dancing series, partnering Russian professional Kristina Rihanoff. Calzaghe and Rihanoff soon began a relationship thereafter, and the two remain together as a couple today.
Following an undercover investigation by the News of the World newspaper, Calzaghe admitted he had used cocaine since his boxing career had ended. In a statement on his website, he added that he regretted his "occasional use of cocaine in what have sometimes been the long days since my retirement from the ring."
