Place Within The TV Series
There are some aspects of the film that do not coincide with the TV series. While the new sheds at Tidmouth and the Sodor Airport appear in the following seasons, the conflict between steam and diesel engines is yet to be permanently resolved in the series. Additionally, Diesel 10 and Lady have never been seen within a story of the TV series, so there is some debate that they belong to a continuity exclusive to the films, rather than the TV series.

Famous quotes containing the words place and/or series:
“Making social comment is an artificial place for an artist to start from. If an artist is touched by some social condition, what the artist creates will reflect that, but you can’t force it.”
—Bella Lewitzky (b. 1916)
“Autobiography is only to be trusted when it reveals something disgraceful. A man who gives a good account of himself is probably lying, since any life when viewed from the inside is simply a series of defeats.”
—George Orwell (1903–1950)
