Famous quotes containing the words prevention, early, intervention and/or programs:

... if this world were anything near what it should be there would be no more need of a Book Week than there would be a of a Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children.
    Dorothy Parker (1893–1967)

    Betwixt the black fronts long-withdrawn
A light-blue lane of early dawn,
    Alfred Tennyson (1809–1892)

The psychiatric specialists, the psychological specialists, the educational specialists, all have mystified child development. They have fostered the idea that understanding children and promoting their intellectual well-being is too complex for mothers and requires the intervention of experts.
    Elaine Heffner (20th century)

In our rush to accomplish great deeds quickly, we trampled on sound principles of restraint and endangered the rights of individuals.
    Gerald R. Ford (b. 1913)
