This initiative’s objective was to expand mental health programs, expand the availability of services, and reduce state spending on mental health. With hundreds of millions of dollars cut from the community mental health system and other safety net programs due to the current economic crisis, MHSA has become an important source of funding of the state’s overall mental health delivery service system.
