C++11 - Features Removed or Deprecated

Features Removed or Deprecated

  • The term sequence point, which is being replaced by specifying that either one operation is sequenced before another, or that two operations are unsequenced.
  • export: Its current use is removed, but the keyword itself is still reserved, for potential future use.
  • dynamic exception specifications are deprecated. Compile time specification of non-exception throwing functions is available with the noexcept keyword (useful for optimization)
  • std::auto_ptr is deprecated. Superseded by std::unique_ptr
  • Function object base classes (std::unary_function, std::binary_function), adapters to pointers to functions and adapters to pointers to members, binder classes; these are all deprecated.

Famous quotes containing the words features and/or removed:

    “It looks as if
    Some pallid thing had squashed its features flat
    And its eyes shut with overeagerness
    To see what people found so interesting
    In one another, and had gone to sleep
    Of its own stupid lack of understanding,
    Or broken its white neck of mushroom stuff
    Short off, and died against the windowpane.”
    Robert Frost (1874–1963)

    Firm-style bean curd insoles cushion feet, absorb perspiration and provide more protein than meat or fish innersoles of twice the weight. Tofu compresses with use, becoming more pungent and flavorful. May be removed when not in use to dry or marinate. Innersoles are ready to eat after 1,200 miles of wear. Each pair provides adult protein requirement for 2 meals. Insoles are sized large to allow for snacks. Recipe booklet included.
