Bulgaria in The Eurovision Song Contest 2007 - Selection Process

Selection Process

Bulgaria held national selection called Pesen Na Evrovizija 2007, which included a semi-final and final. 18 songs took part in a semi final on 3 February 2007, where a jury picked 9 to go to the final, with 3 "wildcards" being added in by Bulgarian National Television (BNT). The winner from those 12 was decided on February 24 by televoting only. Stoyan Yankoulov & Elitsa Todorova will represent Bulgaria with the song "Voda" ("Water") at the Eurovision Song Contest 2007. The win for the duo was very convincing as they won by over 26,000 more votes then the song in second place.

At Eurovision, Bulgaria sang in Bulgarian language for the first time, however the song was presented under the English title, "Water". Bulgaria opened the semi-final, performing in the first position, preceding Israel.

Famous quotes containing the words selection and/or process:

Every writer is necessarily a critic—that is, each sentence is a skeleton accompanied by enormous activity of rejection; and each selection is governed by general principles concerning truth, force, beauty, and so on.... The critic that is in every fabulist is like the iceberg—nine-tenths of him is under water.
    Thornton Wilder (1897–1975)

Healthy parenting is nothing if not a process of empowerment. As we help to raise our children’s self-esteem, we also increase their personal power. When we encourage them to be confident, self-reliant, self-directed, and responsible individuals, we are giving them power.
    Louise Hart (20th century)
