Budmouth College - New Build

New Build

Its campus overlooks the Jurassic Coast World Heritage Site. The campus has been redeveloped, for occupancy after Easter 2011. The new building was assembled and the students and teachers moved in. Then half of the old school was knocked down in Autumn/Winter 2011, leaving "Clare Tower" which features 'The Centre of Excellence' and 'Sixth Form Only' study areas. The school was formally classified as a Technology College but the status changed in October 2011 and is now just a college.

The new campus includes:

  • Specialist suites for all subject areas,
  • New ICT suites,
  • A Greenhouse for Science Students.

The new campus was intended to have a lot more, including a new Art department and Wildlife conservation area but the college lost some of the funding therefore the plans were changed to make room for more and larger class rooms which would initially have been rebuilt on the footprint of the old building.

Famous quotes containing the word build:

The detective novel is the art-for-art’s-sake of our yawning Philistinism, the classic example of a specialized form of art removed from contact with the life it pretends to build on.
    —V.S. (Victor Sawdon)

Friends, both the imaginary ones you build for yourself out of phrases taken from a living writer, or real ones from college, and relatives, despite all the waste of ceremony and fakery and the fact that out of an hour of conversation you may have only five minutes in which the old entente reappears, are the only real means for foreign ideas to enter your brain.
    Nicholson Baker (b. 1957)
