Local Players have ranged from Jim"tough"Leask, Bomber Thomson in the glory days, Spencer Lyon,Robbie Nicol, Alan"Mickey" McPherson, Alec Innes, James"Matty" Matheson, Stephen Bruce, Jamie Shewan, Niel Davidson to new young Jordan Sutherland and Andy Gardiner as probably the most prominent of local lads. Alongside others from Aberdeen, Moray and Inverness areas there has been a number of quality and gifted players who have made only a handful of appearances. During the 70's/80's the team was mostly consisted of players from Aberdeen area and surroundings with maybe one or two Buckie based players, with many having oppurtunties but due to circumstances, failing to make the grade. Malcolm Murray(an ex player himself) took over the management of the club in the 90's and fielded a prodominent local side( fielding no less than 9 local youngsters in one game) with no sucsess but built foundation which Alan Scott/Billy Anderson took to another level. Nowadays there is a heartbeat of 6 local lads which continues to beat with Iain Mcrae, Darren Wood regurarly playing alongside Shewan, Davidson, Sutherland and Gardiner which bodes well for the future
