Famous quotes containing the words buchan and/or caves:

    Civilization is a conspiracy.... Modern life is the silent compact of comfortable folk to keep up pretences.
    —John Buchan (1875–1940)

    A jellyfish and a saurian,
    And caves where the cave men dwell;
    Then a sense of law and beauty,
    And a face turned from the clod—
    Some call it Evolution,
    And others call it God.
    William Herbet Carruth (1859–1929)
