Bruno Tiago - Football Career

Football Career

Having grown through the ranks of Minho's Vitória de Guimarães, Tiago moved to Spain in 2000–01, joining second division outfit UD Salamanca, where he would remain two 1/2 seasons (with a loan to lowly Real Ávila CF in between), without any impact.

Tiago returned to Portugal in January 2003 where, after a spell with lowly Sport Clube Dragões Sandinenses, he signed with Gil Vicente F.C. for 2004–05, making his top level debut on 28 August 2004 in a 2–3 loss at Sporting Clube de Portugal, and finishing his debut season with 25 league appearances.

In July 2007, Tiago moved to Vitória's neighbours Sporting Clube de Braga where, after only week into pre-season, he seriously broke his leg, being ruled out for the season's duration. After two years without playing, he was forced to retire from the game, at only 28.

Famous quotes containing the words football and/or career:

Idon’t enjoy getting knocked about on a football field for other people’s amusement. I enjoy it if I’m being paid a lot for it.
    David Storey (b. 1933)

Each of the professions means a prejudice. The necessity for a career forces every one to take sides. We live in the age of the overworked, and the under-educated; the age in which people are so industrious that they become absolutely stupid.
    Oscar Wilde (1854–1900)
