Government
In connection with the district reform in the 1970s the municipal laws of Baden-Württemberg were amended to introduce borough councils. Residents of each borough elect their Borough Council at each municipal election. The Borough Council must be consulted on issues that significantly affect the respective borough. The Borough President also leads the Borough Council.
