Brome Fair

The Brome Fair ("Exposition de Brome" in French) is an agricultural fair held in the tiny village of Brome in the Eastern Townships region of Quebec, Canada. It takes place annually on Labor Day weekend. It is the oldest and third largest country fair in Quebec, dating back to 1856.

Like most country fairs, in addition to agricultural exhibitions and contests, the Brome fair hosts a variety of country music acts, rides, games, and motorsport events.

The fair grounds also host the The Karnak Shriner's Rodeo and an Environmental Fair organized by Groupe ÉCOSPHÈRE .

Famous quotes containing the words brome and/or fair:

    I have been in love, and in debt, and in drink,
    This many and many a year.
    —Alexander Brome (1620–1666)

    I conjure thee, and all the oaths which I
    And thou have sworn to seal joint constancy,
    Here I unswear, and overswear them thus,
    Thou shalt not love by ways so dangerous.
    Temper, O fair Love, love’s impetuous rage,
    Be my true Mistress still, not my feign’d Page;
    I’ll go, and, by thy kind leave, leave behind
    Thee, only worthy to nurse in my mind
    Thirst to come back;
    John Donne (1572–1631)
