Broadcast Operations Group - Underpayment of Staff

Underpayment of Staff

In September 2009, Broadcast Operations was found to have underpaid a journalist and has been ordered to make a $10,000 backpayment.

The journalist, who was studying communications at a Gold Coast University, worked part-time over a two-year period in the newsroom for Tweed Heads radio stations 97AM/103.5FM and 104.1FM was graded as a cadet.

The Fair Work Ombudsman found that the Journalist was performing tasks that would normally be given to a Grade 1, Band 1 journalist under the Commercial Radio Journalists Award.

Famous quotes containing the word staff:

For the first fourteen years for a rod they do whine,
For the next as a pearl in the world they do shine,
For the next trim beauty beginneth to swerve,
For the next matrons or drudges they serve,
For the next doth crave a staff for a stay,
For the next a bier to fetch them away.
    Thomas Tusser (c. 1520–1580)
