Development
Initial plans for a large fleet of Mk3 loco-hauled coaches to run on almost all Inter-City services were amended prior to construction to provide stock got the planned InterCity 125 fleets, resulting in a much smaller fleet of loco-hauled coaches for West Coast Main Line (WCML) services.

Famous quotes containing the word development:
“Theories of child development and guidelines for parents are not cast in stone. They are constantly changing and adapting to new information and new pressures. There is no right way, just as there are no magic incantations that will always painlessly resolve a childs problems.”
—Lawrence Kutner (20th century)
“Such condition of suspended judgment indeed, in its more genial development and under felicitous culture, is but the expectation, the receptivity, of the faithful scholar, determined not to foreclose what is still a questionthe philosophic temper, in short, for which a survival of query will be still the salt of truth, even in the most absolutely ascertained knowledge.”
—Walter Pater (18391894)
“Fascism, the more it considers and observes the future and the development of humanity, quite apart from political considerations of the moment, believes neither in the possibility nor the utility of perpetual peace.”
—Benito Mussolini (18831945)
