Bristol Airport - Runway

Runway

Bristol Airport has one runway designated 09/27 which is a well suited runway direction for the UK as the prevailing wind is from the south west. Because of this, runway 27 (the westerly direction) is used the most often, about 70% of the time. The airport has one of the shortest international airport runways in the country at just 2,011 m (6,598 ft) in length and runway 27 only having an available landing distance of 1,876 m (6,155 ft). Therefore large aircraft are rarely used due to weight restrictions.
