Brisbane Botanic Gardens

There are two major botanic gardens in Brisbane, Australia:

  • The Brisbane City Botanic Gardens are located in the south-east of the peninsula of the Brisbane River that contains the central business district of the city. They were founded in 1855.
  • The Mount Coot-tha Brisbane Botanic Gardens are located 7 km from Brisbane's CBD in Toowong, Queensland, at the foot of Brisbane's tallest mountain, Mount Coot-tha. They were established in 1970

Famous quotes containing the word gardens:

    Down by the salley gardens my love and I did meet;
    She passed the salley gardens with little snow-white feet.
    She bid me take love easy, as the leaves grow on the tree;
    But I, being young and foolish, with her would not agree.
    William Butler Yeats (1865–1939)
