Brighton Football Club (RFU)

Brighton Rugby Club is one of the oldest rugby clubs in the country founded in 1868. As they were founded before the RFU they are one of the few clubs who are designated F.C. rather than R.F.C.

The club was formed mainly from players from Brighton College. After gaining promotion for the second successive season, the club will play a 1st XV in London 2 South East in the 2010/11 season and a 2nd XV in Sussex Spitfire 1

In 2009 the club travelled to Twickenham where they won the National Junior Vase. In 2010 the club travelled to Twickenham where they won the National Senior Vase.

Famous quotes containing the words football and/or club:

In this dream that dogs me I am part
Of a silent crowd walking under a wall,
Leaving a football match, perhaps, or a pit,
    All moving the same way.
    Philip Larkin (1922–1986)

We have ourselves to answer for.
