In recent times McEniff has developed a bad back. During his appearance on Up for the Match ahead of the 2012 All-Ireland Senior Football Championship Final, McEniff was visibly stiff, awkward and in some pain. One day after undergoing surgery on his back he attended the 2012 All Stars Awards in Dublin—at which All-Ireland Champions Donegal received eight places out of a possible fifteen on the All Stars Team of the Year and Karl Lacey was named All Stars Footballer of the Year—saying “I wouldn't miss this for the world.”

Famous quotes containing the word health:
“The ideal of men and women sharing equally in parenting and working is a vision still. What would it be like if women and men were less different from each other, if our worlds were not so foreign? A male friend who shares daily parenting told me that he knows at his very core what his wifes loving for their daughter feels like, and that this knowing creates a stronger bond between them.”
—Anonymous Mother. Ourselves and Our Children, by Boston Womens Health Book Collective, ch. 6 (1978)
“I would hope that parents and grown children could be friends. When a friend confides in you that shes going to do something that you think is most inappropriate, foolhardy or even dangerous, wouldnt you as a friend say soin a calm, supportive way? Yet I have to be so careful what I say to my children. I have to walk on eggs to be sure Im not hurting their feelings or interfering with their lives.”
—Anonymous Parent of Adult Children. Ourselves and Our Children, by Boston Womens Health Book Collective, ch. 5 (1978)
“At last I feel the equal of my parents. Knowing you are going to have a child is like extending yourself in the world, setting up a tent and saying Here I am, I am important. Now that Im going to have a child its like the balance is even. My hand is as rich as theirs, maybe for the first time. I am no longer just a child.”
—Anonymous Father. Ourselves and Our Children, by Boston Womens Health Book Collective, ch. 5 (1978)
