Brian Gayle

Brian Gayle (born 6 March 1965 in Kingston) is a retired English football defender. As a player he helped Wimbledon to the 1988 FA Cup Final where they achieved a shock 1-0 win over Liverpool. However, Gayle was not in the squad for that game. Perhaps more notably, while at Sheffield United in 1992, Gayle scored an own goal against local rivals Leeds United - cancelling out Leeds's Lee Chapman's earlier own goal - which gave them the Division 1 Title and denied Manchester United their first championship in 23 years.
