Breton Cuisine

Breton cuisine contains many elements from the wider French culinary tradition. Local specialities include:

  • Chouchenn – a type of Breton mead
  • Chistr – cider
  • Fars forn – a kind of sweet suet pudding with prune far breton
  • Kouign-amann – mean butter pastry
  • Krampouezh – thin pancakes made either from wheat or buckwheat flour; usually eaten as a main course (crêpes)
  • Lambig – apple eau de vie
