Frese graduated from Washington High School in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
Frese married Mark Thomas in 2005.
In the 2007 offseason, Coach Frese learned she was pregnant with twins. She gave birth to twin boys on February 17, 2008. Her youngest son was diagnosed with leukemia (ALL) on September 28, 2010.
