Breakaway (Kelly Clarkson Album) - Writing

Writing

In June 2004, Clarkson expressed her intentions to collaborate with co-Idol Fantasia Barrino, who were both at the time expected to record an album. Clarkson wrote some of the tracks featured in the album with assistance from former Evanescence guitarist Ben Moody. She said, " is like the first CD in the sense that it's versatile, but it's more into the rock. It's more into the soulful roots, and it's just a little bit deeper."

The album's title track was written by Canadian pop-rock singer Avril Lavigne, along with Matthew Gerrard, and Bridget Benenate. Originally, Clarkson recorded "Breakaway" to tide fans over until September 2004 when the supposed lead single of the album would hit the airwaves.

Famous quotes containing the word writing:

In the course of writing one historical book or another, it has happened that I could hardly restrain myself from simply copying entire documents. Indeed, I sometimes sank down among the documents and said to myself, I can’t improve on these.
    Alfred Döblin (1878–1957)

I am writing to resist the view that Europe and civilization are going to Hell. If I am being “crucified for an idea”Mthat is, the coherent idea around which my muddles accumulated—it is probably the idea that European culture ought to survive, that the best qualities of it ought to survive along with whatever cultures, in whatever universality. Against the propaganda of terror and the propaganda of luxury, have you a nice simple answer?
    Ezra Pound (1885–1972)

There are different rules for reading, for thinking, and for talking. Writing blends all three of them.
    Mason Cooley (b. 1927)
