Brady Kincaid - Role in The Novella

Role in The Novella

In the novella it is said that Brady is 11 years old and that he sits in class in front of Marty Coslaw, although it does not mention that they were friends. After the drifter was killed in March, a wolf is heard howling. Soon after, rumors begin spreading throughout the town, and school, that the Full Moon Killer is a werewolf, and that this monster was responsible for killing Arnie Westrum, Stella Randolph, and the drifter. Upon hearing the stroies, Brady dismisses them as nonsense.

In April, on April Fool's Day, Brady goes to the park to fly a new Vulture kite that he received as a birthday gift. Initially, he basks in his glory because his kite is better than all of the other ones that are being flown. Afterwards, when he realizes that it has gotten too late, he goes to hurry home, telling himself he must hurry home to avoid a beating from his father. In reality, his fears are getting the best of him and, for the first time, he is afraid of being attacked by a werewolf, not a psychopath. Just then, he is attacked. The next day, he is found on the Memorial Day monument, decapitated and disemboweled, with his kite still in his hand.

He is mentioned later on in December, when the town believes that the horrors are over, and things are returning to normal, it seems that most of the townspeople regret losing Brady the most.
