Boundaries
This constituency covered the northern part of Bradford.
The boundaries of the constituency before it was replaced by Bradford East were based on the electoral wards of Bolton, Bowling, Bradford Moor, Idle, Eccleshill & Undercliffe before the local government boundary changes which took effect in 2004.
Following the review of parliamentary representation in West Yorkshire by the Boundary Commission for England, Bradford was significantly altered, and the resulting constituency was renamed as Bradford East, with effect from the 2010 general election.

Famous quotes containing the word boundaries:
“We must be generously willing to leave for a time the narrow boundaries in which our individual lives are passed ... In this fresh, breezy atmosphere ... we will be surprised to find that many of our familiar old conventional truths look very queer indeed in some of the sudden side lights thrown upon them.”
—Bertha Honore Potter Palmer (18491918)
“Whereas the Greeks gave to will the boundaries of reason, we have come to put the wills impulse in the very center of reason, which has, as a result, become deadly.”
—Albert Camus (19131960)
“Womens art, though created in solitude, wells up out of community. There is, clearly, both enormous hunger for the work thus being diffused, and an explosion of creative energy, bursting through the coercive choicelessness of the system on whose boundaries we are working.”
—Adrienne Rich (b. 1929)
