Athletics
Boylan competes in the Northern Illinois Conference (NIC-10), and is a member of the Illinois High School Association (IHSA); the association which governs most sports and competitive activities in the state. Boys teams are stylized as the Titans, while women's teams are stylized as the Lady Titans.
The school sponsors interscholastic teams for both young men and women in basketball, bowling, cross country, golf, soccer, swimming & diving, soccer, tennis, and track & field. Men may compete in baseball, football, and wrestling, while young women may compete in cheerleading, softball, and volleyball. While not sponsored by the IHSA, the school also sponsors a dance team for young women.
The following teams have finished in the top four of their respective IHSA sponsored state championship tournaments or meets:
- Football: 2011 IHSA 7A State Champions. 2010 IHSA 6A State Champions. Semifinals (1991–92, 92–93, 93–94, 94–95, 2000–01); 2nd place (1975–76). The 1994-95 team was voted as the second greatest team of all time in nic-9/10 history, as voted on buy a panel of judges and internet voting via the Rockford Register Star.
- Baseball: 2nd place (2002–03)
- Basketball (boys): 4th place (1991–92, 93–94, 96–97)
- Golf (boys): 3rd place (2001–02); State Champions (2002–03)
- Golf (girls): 4th place (2004–05)
- Soccer (boys): 4th place (1997–98, 2001–02); 3rd place (2007–08, 08–09); 2nd place (1998–99, 2005–06); State Champions (2010–11)
- Soccer (girls): 4th place (2001–02); 3rd place (2002–03); 2nd place (2003–04)
- Wrestling: Zach Smith 3A 215 lb State Champion (2009); Blaise Butler 3A 135 lb 5th place (2010), 3A 140 lb 4th place (2011)
