Candlepin Bowling Balls
The maximum regulation candlepin ball diameter is 41⁄2 inches (11 cm), with a maximum weight of 2 pounds 7 ounces (1.1 kg), and with the regulated weight of a single candlepin being slightly heavier at 2 pounds 8 ounces (1.1 kg) the candlepin sport could be said to pose a greater challenge to the player—due to the almost non-existent difference of the weight between the ball and one candlepin—than any of the other forms of bowling that use ten pins in them, even when it is considered that up to three balls are used in a frame of candlepins, with fallen pins allowed to remain on the lane after the first ball delivery in a frame.

Famous quotes containing the word balls:
“I count those feathered balls of soot
The moor-hen guides upon the stream,
To silence the envy in my thought;
And turn towards my chamber, caught
In the cold snows of a dream.”
