Bourne Publishing Group - Your Dog

Your Dog

Your Dog was launched in 1995, setting out to break new ground in the canine publishing market. It recognised that many people wanted a truly practical magazine, one that offered advice and help on every aspect of dog ownership. Combined with superb photography and high production values it has the aim of helping readers enjoy, care and understand their dog. Competitors in this market are Dogs Today, a monthly magazine and Our Dogs and Dogs World, two weekly papers aimed at the show circuit. More recently in March 2008, Dogs Monthly has been acquired by a new publisher and re-launched very much as a look alike to Your Dog. The title has continued to post circulation increases in the last three ABC (Audit Bureau of Circulations UK) audit periods.

In 2003, BPG finally purchased the titles from EMAP making a long-term commitment to the titles and in doing so making an investment for the future of the company.

Famous quotes containing the word dog:

The man of genius, like a dog with a bone, or the slave who has swallowed a diamond, or a patient with the gravel, sits afar and retired, off the road, hangs out no sign of refreshment for man and beast, but says, by all possible hints and signs, I wish to be alone,—good-by,—fare-well. But the Landlord can afford to live without privacy.
    Henry David Thoreau (1817–1862)

All sailors pause to watch a steamer, and shout in welcome or derision. In one a large Newfoundland dog put his paws on the rail and stood up as high as any of them, and looked as wise. But the skipper, who did not wish to be seen no better employed than a dog, rapped him on the nose and sent him below. Such is human justice!
    Henry David Thoreau (1817–1862)
