Boss of Bosses

Boss of Bosses is a 2001 made for TV movie about the life of former Gambino Family boss Paul Castellano directed by Dwight H. Little. It stars Chazz Palminteri as Paul Castellano, Patricia Mauceri as his wife Nina, Mark Margolis as Joseph Armone, and Angela Alvarado as his mistress Gloria Olarte.

This film focuses on Paul growing up, becoming disenchanted with his working class lifestyle, spending time with and being influenced by his cousin Carlo Gambino, his friendship with Joey Armone and Tommy Bilotti, and also on his growing relationship with Gloria. This film also serves as a companion piece to Gotti. (Boss of Bosses climaxes with Paul Castellano's murder, while Gotti focuses on the events before, during and after the murder).

The film documents his rocky relationship with his soldiers, along with friend Neil Dellacroce, and climaxes when he attends the famous "meeting" at Sparks Steak House, where he and his bodyguard/new underboss Tommy Bilotti are murdered as they exit their vehicle in an ambush arranged by John Gotti.

Famous quotes containing the words boss and/or bosses:

When you overpay small people you frighten them. They know that their merits or activities entitle them to no such sums as they are receiving. As a result their boss soars out of economic into magic significance. He becomes a source of blessings rather than wages. Criticism is sacrilege, doubt is heresy.
    Ben Hecht (1893–1964)

The daily arguments over putting away the toys or practicing the piano defeat us so easily. We see them coming yet they frustrate us time and time again. In many cases, we are mothers and fathers who have managed budgets and unruly bosses and done difficult jobs well through sheer tenacity and dogged preparation. So why are we unable to persuade someone three feet tall to step into six inches of water at bathtime?
