Bombay Flying Club - Current Status

Current Status

It currently owns one Cessna 152 Aerobat, two Cessna 172 with Garmin 1000 Glass cockpits and one Piper Super Cub PA-18. The Club shifted its Training operations to Dhule Airport near the town of Dhule in 2009 to avoid the congested air-space of Mumbai. The Club leased the airstrip from the Maharashtra Airport Development Company in order to carry out its training activities without any restrictions. Despite the city's change of name, the club retains the old name.

Famous quotes containing the words current and/or status:

“I” is a militant social tendency, working to hold and enlarge its place in the general current of tendencies. So far as it can it waxes, as all life does. To think of it as apart from society is a palpable absurdity of which no one could be guilty who really saw it as a fact of life.
    Charles Horton Cooley (1864–1929)

Anthropologists have found that around the world whatever is considered “men’s work” is almost universally given higher status than “women’s work.” If in one culture it is men who build houses and women who make baskets, then that culture will see house-building as more important. In another culture, perhaps right next door, the reverse may be true, and basket- weaving will have higher social status than house-building.
